Sierra Chase is the founder & CEO of Next Level Services. NLS is a nationwide call center focused on the I.T. managed services space, as well as the I.T. channel. NLS specializes in setting qualified appointments in those spaces. I spoke with Sierra a while back and had a few great takeaways from our conversation around consistency, growth, & listening. I wanted to share those with you here.
Consistency is key:
Getting results from a rapidly growing organization demands process. Process is the key to getting consistent, predictable results from an organization, regardless of industry, size, or entrepreneurial acumen. It is impossible to require performance and properly judge your team off results without setting clear expectations about deliverables and the methods used to get them.
Growth is nothing without profit:
Ensuring that your numbers are correct, your revenue and costs of goods sold are properly matched up to create margin with every dollar that comes in the door, and that you have a firm grip on expenses is mandatory before pursuing growth. You cannot “grow” yourself to profitability, you must start with that baseline established and scale according to it.
Listening is a skill:
You wouldn’t think that listening is a skill that can be trained and improved upon, but it is. Teaching team members to listen with a goal of comprehension versus responding is a core focus for Sierra’s business, and a valuable lesson in the space, especially for those in sales. Without good listening skills, you lose the ability to discover opportunities.
I gain so much value from meeting with fellow entrepreneurs and leaders. Each and every person I speak with brings their own experiences, knowledge, and viewpoints to the table, and without fail, I walk away with a head full of ideas and motivation to do better in my own business.
