Podcast Season 1, Episode 2 Guest: Izzy Amado, CEO, IT Ninjas
Izzy Amado is the CEO and founder of IT Ninjas, a Managed I.T. Services provider out of Florida. He believes in empowering and guiding businesses through technology. His driving passion is bringing enterprise techniques to small business owners. I spoke with Izzy a while back and had a few great takeaways regarding asking questions and being friendly with competitors from our conversation. I wanted to share those with you here.
Ask Questions:
Izzy has a focus on asking questions, to everyone. Peers, Colleagues, Clients, Vendors – he’s willing to approach all of them in his pursuit of business excellence. It seems “obvious”, but I recall for a significant portion of my previous career running my old I.T. firm, I felt a need to be “smart.” By that statement, I mean I needed to “know” and “have the answers.” There’s such power in being willing to ask the obvious question in a room, or to seek that outside knowledge from someone who has dealt with a situation before. Very few paths in the business world need to be crafted from scratch.
Be friendly with your competitors:
Another big take away from my conversation with Izzy was that he makes sure to have a friendly working relationship with his local competition. This approachable nature ensures that every door is “open” to him, no matter the situation. For years I felt that I was “fighting” my competitors in my market – that I had to “beat them” to truly succeed. I couldn’t have been more wrong in my interpretation of how business works and missed out on friendships and resources I could have captured much earlier.
I gain so much value from meeting with fellow entrepreneurs and leaders. Each and every person I speak with brings their own experiences, knowledge, and viewpoints to the table, and without fail, I walk away with a head full of ideas and motivation to do better in my own business. I so greatly appreciate Izzy’s willingness to come onto W.I.N. and share his story.
