Carrie Richardson Completes Goldman Sachs 10000 Small Businesses Program

On December 09, 2022 Carrie Richardson and 16 other entrepreneur scholars graduated from Cohort 25 of the Goldman Sachs 10000 Small Businesses program hosted by Wayne State University.

About The Goldman Sachs 10000 Small Businesses Program

Goldman Sachs 10000 Small Businesses is an investment to help small businesses grow and create jobs by providing them with greater access to education, capital, and business support services.

To date, more than 12,800  business owners have graduated from the program across all 50 states, Washington, D.C., and Puerto Rico.

Through the program, scholars gain practical skills across topics such as financial statements, negotiation, marketing, and employee management, and gain the tools to develop a customized business plan for growth—for free.”

Congratulations To The Scholars of Goldman Sachs 10000 Small Businesses Detroit, Cohort 25

All scholars participated in over 100 hours of classroom education, with an additional 100 hours of homework.

Scholars were required to create a business plan, identify a new growth opportunity, determine the viability of that opportunity, and create financial statements and growth projections for both their business and the new opportunity.

Education modules were created in collaboration with Babson College, Macomb Community College, Oakland Community College and Wayne State University.  Scholars received instruction from experts in each module.

“The program was a huge commitment,” said Carrie.  “However, the connections made throughout the last quarter were incredibly valuable.  I also had weekly one-on-one support from a professional business advisor and the entire Goldman Sachs 1000 Small Businesses Network.

We were placed into small success groups that met weekly for accountability and support.  The scholars in my small group plan to continue our weekly accountability group.”
